Almost 25 years ago, Michelle and I established the Rishel homestead in Grafton with a dream of raising a family in this special place. We raised our two daughters, who thrived living and learning in Ozaukee County. With our daughters wrapping up their education at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and the University of Madison, we are contemplating our future. When we dream about the next chapter, it is right here in Ozaukee County.
I served two terms on the Ozaukee County Board from 2014 - 2018. During that time, I served on the Public Works and Public Safety committees. In 2018, I did not run for re-election when I learned Lew Herro was interested in serving on the board, and I was happy to step aside. In March of 2021, I was asked to fill a vacancy on the board when Lew moved outside the district and decided to run for reelection in 2022 and currently serving on the board.
For the last 15 years I have been an owner and president of a small business who sells and supports industrial automation and electrical solutions to manufacturers across Wisconsin. During my time on the board, I have used the skills and knowledge developed running a business to help the county realize opportunities and solve problems in the most fiscally responsible manner.
Ozaukee County is a wonderful place to live, especially if you love the outdoors. My passions are fishing, hunting, camping, and golf with a sprinkle of live music. I love taking someone fishing, especially a youngster who has never had the opportunity to crank in a big salmon.
